Description
This course integrates the knowledge, values, and skills developedthroughout the social work curricula and is the capstone course in theSocial Work sequence. Students continue to engage in structured,individualized learning opportunities in a community agency setting.Faculty, agency field instructors, and students collaborate to applygeneralist social work skills, values and knowledge in the practice.During the semester, students will complete 15 hours per weekfor a minimum of 200 hours in an agency setting approved by theMedgar Evers College Social Work field coordinator. The seminar willserve as a culminating opportunity, where the knowledge, skills, andtheories learned in social work courses are understood in the contextof practical application. Students are expected to submit a portfolioof work that includes practice addendums. A practice research paperwill be required. Pre-requisite: SW 323, SW 337, SW 403 and SW420
