Transfer (Advanced Standing) Students

Students who have attended a college or other postsecondary institution should file a CUNY Transfer Application for Admission. The application requires an application fee and official transcripts from all institutions attended, including high school. Your high school diploma may be submitted in place of the official high school transcript. Transfer applicants are considered for admission with advanced standing if they meet the following minimum criteria:

CUNY College


Non-CUNY College


Transfer students with fewer than 24 credits earned must have the minimum grade point average (GPA) and an acceptable academic high school average and course of study as outlined above. These are the requirements for consideration. Actual admission criteria are usually higher. Former students who have earned a Baccalaureate degree from Medgar Evers College must file an online Transfer application at in order to be considered to pursue a second degree.
