Course Title
Remote Sensing-Computer Methods for Satellite Data Analysis
Department(s)
Description
This course examines how the raw satellite data is converted into meaningful physical quantities such as temperature and reflectance, how clouds are detected, and how radiative transfer techniques are applied to obtain additional information about the clouds and surface of Earth. The course will use actual satellite data. Emphasis will be on scientific principles of satellite data analysis, digital image processing, efficiency of computer methods for carrying out this analysis and meteorologic, oceanographic and environmental applications.
