Description
This course will exam the literature of the modernist movement in English. It will cover the period roughly between 1890 and 1940 on both sides of the Atlantic. Students will be given a broad overview of the major tenets of this movement as well as an in depth study of some of its major works on the margins. Some focus will be given to works of the Harlem Renaissance.
