Course Title
Vector Analysis
Department(s)
Description
This course will provide students with a survey of the algebra and calculus of vector-valued functions in the plane and in space. Vector product identities and the geometry of vectors will be presented. The differential calculus of vector functions will be studied and identities involving the Laplacian, the divergence, and the curl will be examined. Line, surface, and volume integrals will be presented. The theorems of Gauss, Green, and Stokes will be examined, as will generalized orthogonal coordinates and applications of vector analysis to physics.
