An introductory course to drumming with emphasis on African and African Caribbean drumming. The learners are introduced to the history of drumming and its cultural impact on Africa and the African diaspora. They receive basic hands on training. They are taught the ethics involved in making and handling a drum. They are taught the how to use the mind, body and hands in playing many rhythms.
