Description
This course introduces the PN student to the concepts of nutrition and how application relates to the clients' level of wellness and well-being. The student will have the opportunity to identify and discuss the nutritional health practices among diverse urban populations. Students will learn the dietary significance of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins, minerals and other selected aspects of nutrition as they relate to clients across the health care spectrum. Students will explore how culturally diverse populations differ in their nutritional intake and how these differences may impact the client's health status.
