Description

This course reviews traditional and alternative forms of local and metropolitan administrative structure, planning, and financing. It focuses on regional administrators, local authorities, and other quasi-public models as means to meeting urban and local needs and mobilizing and conserving local and municipal resources. The course also examines critical issues in the delivery of local and municipal services in relation to community needs and competition for limited resources, such as police, fire, sanitation, health, hospital, and welfare services.
