Description
This course focuses on spatial patterns and their interrelationships with population, economic activity and political units. The thesis of Ellsworth Huntington about people's capacity for physical work and intellectual development in relation to climate is critically revisited. Students also study how geography keeps tract of the changing political and cultural divisions in selected countries, as well as with the exemplary analyses that have been made for exploring how these divisions are influenced by past changes and how they are likely to be influenced by changes in the future.
