This course will further develop the knowledge skills of generalistpractice and will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to applyproblem solving methods to groups and communities. Studentswill learn alternative intervention strategies with populations at risk,and examine ethical conflicts in work with groups and communities.Emphasis will also be placed on teaching students how to conducta generalist social work assessment and engage in action planningin order to frame suggested solutions to group and/or communityproblems. This is a service-learning course and students will be expectedto devote sixteen hours outside of class during the semester inpreselected community sites. Pre-requisites: SW 330
