Description

This course is designed to help students develop skills that turn traditional managers into effective leaders. While managers do work, leaders create vision. This course prepares students to become visionary and not to plan for, but also create, the future. This course includes the definition of leadership and its functions. Various approaches are studied, including those based on traits, skills, styles and situations. Well-known theories are extensively discussed, such as the contingency theory, path-goal theory and leadership-member exchange theory. A broader view of the leadership is presented, with topics such as-women in leadership, team leadership, psychodynamic approach to leadership and ethical aspects of leadership.
