Description
This course is an introductory survey of concepts of economics, the methodology of economics as a social science and the economic way of thinking. Topics include economic systems, consumer behavior, production, market structures and price determination for understanding the role of markets in market economies. Other topics include inflation, unemployment, and the role of government in a market economy in the context of our contemporary global economy at the individual and societal level. Emphasis will be placed on economic policy analysis and approaches to social and political problems.
