Course Title

Women in Government

Description

This course will educate students about the pathways that some of the most vulnerable populations, women, have used to become partners with our communities through government. We will explore how the intersectionality of race, ethnicity, gender, and to some extent age have influenced these partnerships and how they have led to transformations and changes in society. We will examine their unofficial and official roles from start to finish, and the effect of their roles on the community that they serve and the wider community overall. We will analyze their key legislation and/or programs that they were able to champion at all levels of government as well and in all branches of government. We will analyze their paths to victory and document this pathway as a model for their successors.
