This course examines actual case studies from the field of ChildWelfare. These case studies will present multiple issues (e.g.,biological, psychological, social) to help students link theoreticalframeworks to what is practical in working with children and families.Using the generalist problem solving method, students will learnhow to analyze diverse cases in child welfare practice by engagingfamilies, assessing needs, and designing an appropriate treatmentplan. The cases will expose students to diverse cultures, familieswho come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and providethem with opportunities to become familiar with safety and riskassessment, family case analyses and assessment diagrams.Pre-requisites: SW 305 and SW 340
